Hamas, founded in 1987 during the First Intifada, is recognized as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and other countries. For decades, Hamas has used violence against Israel while also suppressing its own people in Gaza. Instead of building infrastructure or improving living conditions, the group has diverted billions in aid to build rockets, tunnels, and military bases.
Aid agencies say that many Palestinians in Gaza are facing extreme hunger. Yet, Hamas repeatedly intercepts food deliveries, sells the goods at high prices, or gives them only to supporters. This leaves ordinary families—especially children and the elderly—struggling to survive.
Israeli officials say the latest videos prove what they have warned about for years: Hamas is not only attacking Israel but also starving Palestinians to maintain control through fear. “Every bag of flour and every box of food stolen is another family left hungry,” one Israeli security source explained.
Humanitarian groups are calling for international pressure to ensure that aid reaches the people who need it, not the terrorists who exploit it. Israel continues to insist that any relief sent into Gaza must be monitored to prevent Hamas from turning it into a weapon against both Israelis and Palestinians.
