Israeli Envoy Decries Stockholm Protest as Modern Anti-Semitic Incitement

Israels Ambassador to Sweden, Ziv Nevo Kulman, has issued a forceful condemnation of a recent demonstration in Stockholm, denouncing it as a dangerous revival of historic anti-Semitic tropes. The protest, which featured a mock slaughter, was described by the ambassador as a malicious attempt to repackage ancient hatreds by substituting the term Zionists for Jews.

Ambassador Kulman emphasized that such imagery directly echoes the medieval blood libel, a false and incendiary accusation historically used to incite violence against Jewish communities. He stated that this modern manifestation seeks to demonize supporters of the Jewish state and delegitimize Israels right to exist as a sovereign nation.

The ambassadors remarks underscore Israels ongoing commitment to confronting anti-Semitism in all its contemporary forms. He highlighted that such displays of hatred not only threaten Jewish communities worldwide but also poison public discourse, undermining the democratic values that Sweden and Israel share. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for continued vigilance and education to combat age-old prejudices when they reappear in new guises.
